The golden guide-words in front of you shift and change again. "You chose down" You have just enough time to read them before the floor beneath you vanishes, and you drop into a long, long tunnel going down.
There's nothing much to see as it's very dark, and so you just hear a gentle wooshing of the air as it passes you, or rather, as you pass it.
The air isn't wooshing nearly as quickly as you'd expect it to be though. While the surprise drop took you off-guard, the actual experience seems to be surprisingly soothing. The dark drop continues for long enough for your brain to begin to wander.
A bit later you come back out of your thoughts and realize that you've stopped moving. The shift was so gentle that it went by unnoticed, but you're now sitting on a pile of pillows.
The room you're in is lit, though dimly and with a decidedly purple hue. There is writing on the wall, clear and readable.
"Welcome to the Oubliette. This is a place for forgetting. Take a moment to think about whatever you would like to leave behind here. A name, a memory, a belief, a grief, anything that you are burdened with. When you leave this room, do not take it with you."
You take a moment to consider whether there's anything you'd like to leave here. Whether you do or do not, only you know.
You notice there's a door to your left, and when you open it, it leads out into the floor from which you just fell.
Take your time, and return there only when you are ready to.
